All of our equity reports present quantitative analysis combined with critical information data points, including price and volume history, trending news and sentiment measures, RSIs and Bollinger Bands.
What is a Stock Model Portfolio?
Think traditional portfolio, but with a quantitative spin. Stock Model Portfolios are multi-factor risk adjusted theme-based portfolios.
A Stock Model Portfolio enables you to create an optimized “sleeve or bucket” in your portfolio. For example, the European Consumer Discretionary Stock Model Portfolio captures an  important segment of the European equity markets. You can place the European Discretionary Stock Model Portfolio as an allocation within your portfolio to have exposure to this sector. The allocation amount is for the Stock Model Portfolio, not the individual stocks composing  it. This can be done  with any of the Stock Model Portfolios.
"Sleeves or buckets" are used in portfolio composition to create focused investment exposure while managing risk. Risk is managed by controlling the portfolio allocation to the "sleeve". It is very important not to over-allocate to a "sleeve". "Sleeves" will have periods of outperformance and underperformance, but over time are an effective method to create a diversified portfolio.
Used in  this way, the Stock Model Portfolio functions like a single security comprised of multiple stocks. With a Stock Model Portfolio you are in total control of the portfolio and each stock in the portfolio. You can tax manage the portfolio and avoid the negative effects of redemptions or the over concentration.
The use of a Stock Model Portfolio is limited by the size of your portfolio. However the increasing ability to cost effectively trade in small odd lots on the internet brokers is mitigating the portfolio size issue.
What are Q-Option Strategies?
Option Strategies are options trading ideas that are transparent and easily executable. Option Strategies are derived from and optimized by our multi-factor quantitative models combined with advanced volatility analytics. There are Option Strategies for all risk levels.
What are Crypto Trading Signals?
Crypto Trading Signals are Buy/Don't Own signals. These signals are derived from our proprietary machine learning algorithms.
REMINDER: All Buy/Don't Own signals are "probabilities", and are meant to be used over a period of time to allow the "probability effect" to be realized.
What is a Crypto Model Portfolio?
Crypto Model Portfolios are multi-factor risk adjusted cryptocurrency portfolios that are optimized using proprietary quantitative risk models.
What is a Crypto Research Report?
A Crypto Research Reports provides important information on salient elements of the crypto ecosystem including wallets, exchanges, currencies, etc.
What is the difference between Global Top Stock Ideas and Stock Model Portfolios?
Stock Model Portfolios are optimized theme-based portfolios with targeted risk levels. They are optimized around metrics applied to a group of stocks. Global Top Stock Ideas are individual stocks on which a variety of quantitative multi-factor metrics are applied to assess the risk/return rating compared to other individual stocks.
How do you derive Global Top Stock Ideas and Stock Model Portfolios?
Both products are derived using our proprietary quantitative multi-factor models and applying them to the respective markets, sectors and themes.
What is quantitative multi-factor modeling?
For all us "big data" lovers out there, multi-factor analysis uses advanced mathematical analytics and sophisticated "big data" technology to identify underlying investment characteristics, known as "factors", that materially influence investment performance and portfolio market risks.
What are the factors you are using?
Our factors are proprietary, but their construction is influenced by the traditional factor concepts of value, momentum, volatility, quality & size. We have built upon these concepts with our unique quality, growth, & technical factors to derive these proprietary models and signals.
What is a Q-Factor score?
Each month our Quantamize proprietary multi-factor models score and rank over 10,000 stocks from 30 countries. A Q-Factor rating is assigned to each stock ranging from A, Top Buy to F, Top Short. These Q-Factor ratings represent our models’ expectation for performance for the month. Click here for more details.
Why are there 2 Q-Factor scores for some stocks?
We model US stocks, grouping them in 2 different equity universes, market capitalizations and sectors. Quantamize market capitalization universes are Large Cap, SMID (small and medium) Cap and Micro Cap. Sector universes are Information Technology, Consumer Discretionary, Consumer Staples and Industrials. For each stock, a rating is generated within these distinct universes of stocks, enabling you to better identify a risk benchmark based on either universe. Put more simply, we're giving you 2 ways to evaluate the potential success of the stock so that you're more confident about your decision!
What is a factor basket and how does it relate to the Q-Factor score?
Quantamize groups its proprietary factors which are components of our quantitative multi-factor algorithms into 4 baskets of "quality value", "low volatility & momentum", "growth" and "technical". These 4 baskets are components that compose a stock's overall Q-Factor score.
Why do your ratings change each month?
Our quantitative multi-factor models are run monthly for all the global markets we cover to account for any recent changes. By incorporating the most recent month's data, we are able to give the most up-to-date ratings at the beginning of each month in the Quantamize Global Top Stock Ideas reports.
What does that change mean?
If our ratings change, that means something happened in the market which is reflected in the data captured. Our models are never static, so you can always rest assured that you're getting the most robust insight available.

Models, Benchmarks & Backtests FAQs

What is a back test?
Something we do pretty often! It is the process of testing an investment strategy on relevant historical data to analyze its potential performance before risking any real money. It's one of the many ways we assist you in making smart investment choices!
Where do your models come from?
All Quantamize models are built internally by our big data loving investment team.
Where do you get your data?
While our models are unique to us, we do purchase primary traditional & alternative data from a variety of vendors.
What benchmarks do you use?
We use benchmarks appropriate to the respective models, including indexed ETFs, long/short indices and market indices.
How do I see historical performance?
You can check out any model's historical performance on the individual investment product page. All returns shown are based on a simulated systematic back-test (no human interaction) and no live assets were invested in the trades. Consequently, these returns represent the hypothetical performance of the Quantamize Multi-Factor Model. The hypothetical returns do not include transaction costs. Portfolios are re-balanced monthly at the end of the month with an equal-weight portfolio allocation.
